For our flagship wine brand, we have chosen the dove as a historical symbol for the soul, here seen soaring above the world’s troubles .

The Soul is the immaterial essence, life force or spiritual aspect of a living being as distinct from its physical body. The concept of the soul is deeply rooted in history, philosophy and many religions, often considered immortal, but always considered to be the defining essence of a living being.

A survivor is a living being that continues to exist despite experiencing difficulties imposed by health, nature or other beings, especially by human oppression and its callous or evil acts.

A Soul Survivor is a living being whose spiritual essence remains whatever their circumstances. Like a flame in the storm, the survivor’s soul continues to shine and burn. Sometimes that flame is small and deeply hidden, sometimes nearly forgotten, sometimes it burns brightly and provides light and warmth for others. What matters is that the flame continues to burn, even it flickers and fights to remain alight.

We have named our small winery Soul Survivor Wines to pay homage to all soul survivors, wherever they may be, and whatever their circumstances.

“No coward soul is mine.

No trembler in the world’s storm-troubled sphere”

(Emily Bronte, author of Wuthering Heights, 1846)
