An old man is lying on the floor of a subway station, barely conscious. Well-dressed but idling underfoot without concern for busy commuters who step around his prostrate body or occasionally step over the top of him. Nobody stops to help. Many commuters have witnessed similar events; some fear being associated with a possible loser or his problems. After some time, four young leather and denim-clad men with skin piercings and tattoos, stop and hunch over the old man. They can see he has trouble breathing and inquire if he is “alright”. Clearly, the old man is suffering and incapacitated. The gang provides comfort for the man and moves him away from the crowds. In fact, the old man has suffered a stroke and the young men, by stopping to check on his condition and calling for medical assistance, may have saved his life. The old man was a grandfather. The young men were the strangest angels. The story is true.

In life, we never know who the person may be who may help us when we most need help. Sometimes we do not know who or how we may be helped; sometimes it is the strangest of angels that come to our assistance.
